On Curaçao, you’ll find more than just sun, sea and relaxation — you’ll also get a taste of the island’s rich culture, deeply rooted in its local cuisine. From hearty stews to tropical flavors with a Caribbean twist and from freshly caught fish to sweet treats like coconut cake and bolo di cashupete; every dish tells a story of the island’s history and cultural melting pot. The best part? You’ll find delicious food all over Curaçao. Whether you prefer dining by the sea or discovering a hidden spot among the locals, the island is full of great places to eat. Below, I’m sharing some of my favorite foodie spots that I always enjoy during my stay on Curaçao.
Maira’s Kitchen (Otrobanda, Willemstad)
Maira’s Kitchen is located in Otrobanda, the colorful neighborhood where you’ll find some of Willemstad’s most striking street art. The setting is cozy and the menu features Mediterranean dishes with a Caribbean twist. Want to try stoba, the traditional Antillean stew? In my opinion, this is the perfect place to do it. Maira’s Kitchen is a must-visit, especially as a stop along a street art walk through the impressive murals of Otrobanda.

Karakter Beach Club (Coral Estate)
Karakter Beach Club is a stunning spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You’ll find Karakter at Coral Estate, a luxury resort on the southwest side of the island. I personally love enjoying a hearty breakfast here with a sea view, while pelicans busily dive for fish nearby. At Karakter, it’s easy to spend the entire day. The crystal-clear water is teeming with fish — perfect for snorkeling. There are shady beach loungers available for rent. Prefer a pool? Just take the stairs upstairs to the infinity pool, which offers a fantastic view. Many consider Karakter one of the best spots on the island to watch the sunset.

Mondi City Beach Club (Willemstad)
Mondi City Beach Club is a lovely spot in Willemstad, right by the water next to the cruise ship dock. Here, you can enjoy the pool and relax on comfortable beach loungers. Lunch and dinner are delicious, featuring dishes with traditional Caribbean flavors served with a modern twist. During my stay, I find myself returning to Mondi several times. It’s the perfect place to unwind and let the impressions of a long day on the island sink in.

Koko’s (Jan Thiel)
When visiting Curaçao, a breakfast at Koko’s is not to be missed. Here, you can enjoy freshly made smoothies, delicious pancakes and hearty yogurt bowls. Early in the morning, the beach at Koko’s is very peaceful, offering a stunning view of Jan Thiel Bay.

Bliss the Berry (Mambo Beach Boulevard)
Speaking of great breakfasts, you’ll definitely find them at Bliss the Berry on Mambo Beach Boulevard. The variety of smoothie and açaí bowls on the menu are fantastic and beautifully presented. Bliss the Berry is a popular breakfast spot, so you might have to wait for a table. But trust me — it’s more than worth the wait.

Bahia Restaurant (Playa Lagun)
If you’re looking for a restaurant with both a view and great food, be sure to add Bahia Restaurant at Playa Lagun to your list. The restaurant is perched atop the cliffs, offering stunning views of the beach and bay. The menu features both local and international dishes. If you’re lucky, the resident iguana — one of the Big Five of Curaçao and animals you’ll often see on the island — might even come by to say hello!

Morning Vibes Truk’i Pan (Willemstad)
Are you on the road and looking for a quick breakfast? Then stop by Morning Vibes for a delicious serving of waffles. The friendly ladies of this cozy Truk’i Pan can be found along Jan Noorduynweg. It’s the perfect pit stop if you’re heading north on the island to explore some beautiful spots.

PasaWá Box Eatery (Willemstad)
Are you with a group and everyone wants something different? Or do you want to try several dishes yourself? Then PasaWá Box Eatery is the place for you. PasaWá is an open-air food court with a bar in the center and cozy tables around it. Surrounding the bar are containers with different kitchens where you can get a variety of dishes. Ordering is easy—you place your order at the table with one of the staff, so you don’t have to keep getting up to pick up your food. I expected it to be busy, like you often see in food halls, but the opposite was true: it was pleasantly quiet and the atmosphere was perfect.

Omundo Restaurant & Bar (Willemstad)
Omundo is a restaurant located on the site where the Zuikertuintje plantation once stood. The menu features both local dishes and international flavors. In the mood for a drink before dinner? Take a seat at the colorful bar. Visiting around lunchtime? Combine your meal with a visit to some of the shops in Zuikertuin Mall nearby.
